West Virginia

I was elated staying up til the wee hours watching the miracle rescue of twelve surviving miners. Until I heard, "there was a miscommunication," according to the CEO of the mining company. "Only one miner survived and is in critical condition."

My heart go out to the families and friends of the miners that died and to their small community as well. For them to hear that the miners were alive, to give them the miracle of hope they had prayed for and then to take it away three hours later is just incomprehensible to me.

I am totally baffled myself...we all wished for a miracle, adn when it came true, it was such a blessing..then the rug was pulled out from under our feet..what a horrible miscommunication on their part. My heart aches for all of those families and that town...and my prayers are definitally with them all.

Love ya,
Sarah

last night, when I went to bed, I was so happy for all of them, they had been "alive" and then this morning, the trueth was so harsh...its so sad...the children interviewed looked so lost...who interviews a child at that time? my heart breaks for all of the families and friends...its such a horrible ordeal :o(

The press has declined faster and further than the rest of our civilization. This episode is proof positive.

That just hurt my heart when I heard it yesterday. I can't even imagine how the families must feel.

I am broken-hearted about this and now to hear that the sole survivor has fallen into a coma-well, I have been sobbing for about 20 minutes. The fact that some of the miners left notes for OTHER families so that they would KNOW that their men didn't suffer is so selfless. Renee

In an effort to get the scoop, some freakin' news outlet really did a number on those families. Whomever overheard that phone conversation and ran to press with it before confirming the info should, at the very least, be fired. UGH!

It is heartbreaking. Add the notes and I just can't fathom the whole thing.

Doesn't this make you feel so elated, full of hope and amazed at the human spirit...and then, the worst news possible. I actually felt my collapse physically as well as emotionally. Those poor families -

Peace and love to you and yours,
Deb
